Panettone & Mince Pie FAQs

1. What is panettone?

Panettone is a traditional Italian sweet bread that originated in Milan and is enjoyed around the world, particularly during the festive season. At our bakery in Kent, we handcraft artisan panettone using traditional methods, premium ingredients and a slow fermentation process to create a beautifully light texture and exceptional flavour.

We currently offer two delicious artisan panettone varieties:

  • Classico – our traditional Italian-style panettone, made with candied orange peel, lemon peel and juicy raisins for a light, fragrant and timeless flavour.
  • Pistachio, Cherry & White Chocolate – a luxurious combination of sweet cherries, creamy white chocolate and pistachios, creating a rich and indulgent twist on the classic.

We’re always experimenting with new recipes and are working on expanding our range, so keep an eye on our website for exciting new flavours coming soon.

At present, we do not offer gluten-free, vegan or other specialist dietary options. Our panettone and mince pies are made using traditional ingredients and may contain common allergens such as wheat, milk, eggs and nuts.

Please check the individual product page for full ingredient and allergen information before placing your order. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Our artisan mince pies are handmade in Kent using buttery, all-butter pastry and generously filled with richly spiced fruit mincemeat. Baked in small batches using carefully selected ingredients, they’re the perfect festive treat to enjoy with family and friends.

To enjoy your festive bakes at their best:

Panettone

  • Keep it sealed in its original airtight bag until you’re ready to enjoy it.
  • Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and humidity.
  • Do not refrigerate your panettone, as this can dry it out and affect its texture.
  • · Once opened, press out as much air as possible from the bag, reseal it tightly and continue to store it in a cool, dry place.

Mince Pies

  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Once opened, keep them in an airtight container to maintain their freshness.
  • For the best flavour and texture, enjoy them within a few days of opening.

Panettone is made using natural ingredients and contains no artificial preservatives. When kept sealed in its original packaging and stored correctly, it will remain fresh until the Best Before date shown on the label.

Mince pies are best enjoyed fresh and should be consumed by the Best Before date shown on the packaging. Once opened, we recommend enjoying them within a few days.

Yes.

Panettone can be sliced and frozen in individual portions. Wrap each slice tightly in cling film before placing it in a freezer bag or airtight container. Defrost in the fridge for up to 24 hours, then bring to room temperature before serving.

Mince pies can also be frozen in an airtight container for up to three months. Defrost thoroughly at room temperature and warm gently in the oven before serving, if desired.

For a delicious bakery-fresh experience, lightly toast a slice of panettone in a preheated (but switched off) oven or warm it gently in a dry, non-stick frying pan for around one minute. Serve on its own or with coffee, mascarpone or a scoop of gelato.

Our mince pies are equally delicious served at room temperature or warmed for a few minutes in the oven. Enjoy with cream, custard or brandy butter for a traditional festive treat.

Our artisan panettone are beautifully presented in premium packaging, making them a wonderful gift for Christmas, birthdays and other special occasions. While we do not currently offer a gift-wrapping service, each panettone is carefully packaged to create a premium gifting experience.
